More than sending someone to the door

Matching, credential verification, scheduling, coverage and documentation are part of every hour of support.

Workers are matched to the required credentials, skills and level of support.

  • Coverage when plans change

Open-shift coverage when a scheduled worker is unavailable.

The right person. The right support. The right fit.

We use worker qualifications, experience, skills, availability and preferences alongside each client's needs to identify appropriate matches.

Funding & financial resources

Some families use funding programs, private insurance or benefit plans toward the cost of support.

Private pay

Families may pay privately for support services.

Common questions

Do you have a minimum visit length?

Minimum visit lengths are confirmed with each family before support begins.

What happens if my worker calls in sick?

The shift becomes an open shift. Our system identifies other workers who meet the credential, skill, availability and location requirements and notifies them, and staff confirm the replacement. We cannot promise that a replacement is always available at short notice.

What if I don't think my worker is the right fit?

Tell us. Staff review the reason, the current arrangement is handled respectfully, and the matching system looks for alternative qualified workers for you to review.

Can I have more than one worker?

Yes. Different workers can cover different shifts for the same person, and each worker only sees their own schedule.

Can I choose my worker?

You choose from the workers we identify as appropriately matched for the support requested.

How are workers matched?

On credentials, skills, experience, scope, availability, location, transportation, service type and stated preferences. Price alone never determines a match.

How do you verify credentials?

Staff review submitted credentials and record a verification status and expiry date. Where a public register exists — such as the College of Nurses of Ontario — staff check the register and record who checked it and when.

What happens if a worker's credential expires?

The system flags it. A worker cannot be assigned to a shift that requires a credential that is expired or unverified.

Can workers see each other's schedules?

No. Each worker sees only their own schedule. Clients see only their own care schedule. Staff see the full operational picture.

Can I use Passport funding?

Many families use Passport or similar funding toward support. Confirm eligibility and allowable expenses with your funding program — we cannot guarantee approval or reimbursement.

How do I know what service I need?

Use the "Not sure what support I need?" guide, or contact us. The guide suggests a starting point only; staff review every request.

Can I request overnight support?

Yes, where appropriate. Overnight coverage is scheduled with appropriate worker hour limits.

What happens if my needs change?

Tell your coordinator. The support plan and matching can be reassessed and the schedule updated.

Is my information private?

Sensitive documents — government ID, work eligibility documents, police checks, insurance and credential files — are never shown to clients or other workers. Clients see verification status only.

Rates, minimums and additional charges are confirmed in writing before support begins and may change with notice.

Funding, insurance and tax-credit eligibility vary by individual circumstances. Connected Support Inc. does not guarantee reimbursement or eligibility. Please confirm with the applicable funding agency, insurer or tax professional.
